Before a rhinoplasty

• Consulting: 1 to 2 consultations with the plastic surgeon, 1 consultation with the anesthesiologist
• Tips: Stop smoking at least 3-4 weeks beforehand, stop taking anticoagulants (aspirin or NSAIDs) 10 days before the procedure
• Signature documents (quote, informed consent), and taking pre-operative photographs
• Reflection period: 15 days between the first consultation and the procedure

The intervention rhinoplasty

• Anesthesia: local with sedation or general
• Duration of the intervention: Between 1 and 2 hours
• Hospitalization : Often possible on an outpatient basis (same-day discharge) or with one-night hospitalization (discharge the day after the procedure)

Sequences and Outcome of the rhinoplasty

• Post-operative instructions : wearing a splint or cast for 7 to 12 days
• Removing the wires: No stitches need to be removed as all the stitches are absorbable in the mucous membranes; stitches on the columella will need to be removed between 7 and 10 days if the procedure was open.
• Rest : 1 to 7 days.
• Resumption of physical activities: Between 2 and 4 weeks
• Resumption of professional activities: in some cases as early as the next day, or after 7 days of recovery.
• Timeframe for final result: between 3 and 6 months most often, but sometimes up to 1 year after the procedure
