What is the facelift breast?
La mastopexy, also called face lifting ou breast lift is an operation which aims to lift the breast and concentrate it on itself.
The term "breast lift" is sometimes used. Indeed, breast ptosis refers to the sagging of the breast, resulting in drooping. This sagging can be related to pregnancy, aging, weight fluctuations, or be congenital; only surgery can lift the breasts. Depending on the degree of breast ptosis, the resulting scars can vary: around the areola, vertical, or inverted T-shaped.
In some cases, breast augmentation with implants may be combined, which most often allows for a reduction in the size of the scars.
If the patient desires an increase in size, breast implants or lipofilling (transfer of fat taken by liposuction) may be offered.
Progress of the intervention
Before a breast lift
- Consulting: 1 to 2 consultations with the plastic surgeon, 1 consultation with the anesthesiologist
- Tips: Stop smoking at least 3-4 weeks beforehand, stop taking anticoagulants (aspirin or NSAIDs) 10 days before the procedure
- Signature documents (quote, informed consent), and taking pre-operative photographs
- Reflection period: 15 days between the first consultation and the procedure
The intervention of breast lift
- Anesthesia: Generate
- Duration of the intervention: Between 1 and 2 hours
- Hospitalization : Often possible on an outpatient basis (same-day discharge) or with one-night hospitalization (discharge the day after the procedure)
Sequences and Results ofbreast lift
- Post-operative instructions : wearing a compression bra
- Removing the wires: No threads to remove as all threads are absorbable
- Rest : 1 to 7 days.
- Resumption of physical activities: Between 2 and 4 weeks
- Resumption of professional activities: in some cases as early as the next day, or after 7 days of recovery.
- Timeframe for final result: between 3 and 6 months most often, but sometimes up to 1 year after the procedure
